Who will attend the 4th World Conference of Women's Shelters?

This conference will be an opportunity to join over 1,500 advocates, service providers, government representatives, funders, corporate partners, researchers, academics and students from 120 countries to network and share ideas on how to strengthen women shelters and end violence against women.

What is the official language of the conference?

The official conference language is English. The plenary sessions will have simultaneous translation in Chinese, French and Spanish.

Do I have to speak or host in English?

You can host workshops or present in any language, but we will not provide translation services in breakout workshops and seminars. Interacting with the audience in a language other than English may limit the audience - please consider providing your own translation.

How much does it cost to attend the conference?

Without the plane ticket, the estimated cost of six days and five nights is about US$640, including early-early-bird registration fee, mid-range accommodation (three to four-star shared twin room), local transportation, inexpensive meals outside the conference and miscellaneous items. Kaohsiung City is an affordable city. In addition to the MRT network that provides direct access to the airport, there are also many delicious food stalls at reasonable prices. Discounted hotel and travel information will also be available on the conference website soon.

What is the visa requirement for entry to Taiwan?

Nationals from many countries are eligible for visa exemption or landing visa. Please see Bureau of Consular Affairs Website to check what visa you need to enter Taiwan. We can help participants apply for an e-visa if necessary for a handling fee of US$60. When you register for the conference, please check the e-visa box.

Can we register a group?

Yes. You can register up to 10 participants at a time.
